The Blog's Origins
I toyed with the idea of starting a blog for quite some time, but kept putting it off as it seemed rather daunting. Suddenly I had a few months of time on my hands, and the idea returned to me, and I started working in earnest. Initially I had thought to call it "Beyond 50", with contents aimed at people in this age group, but then I realized that the contents would be equally suited to people in other age groups, and so I renamed the blog to its present title, "Ken's Days and Travels".
The blog contains a variety of materials, mostly me writing up short pieces about travel, the entertainment industry in Thailand, and general observations on life. I hope that you will find some of the contents entertaining, perhaps even useful, and I look forward to your comments.

A very dear friend was fluent in Russian; he spoke the language, wrote it, read it, and could rhyme off a long list of Russian authors and composers, all of whom he had read and studied and from which he could either quote passages or recall performance details of their works. It … Read more...
